QUEENSLAND ADVANCED COAL PREPARATION COURSE
The Australian Coal Preparation Society (Queensland Branch) conducts one Advanced Coal Preparation Course each year, usually in early July and may run an additional course in March if there is sufficient demand.
The course has been run annually since the mid-1970's and would normally attract a full quota of participants.
It is designed to address a wide range of coal preparation topics, with an emphasis on current practice. Lecturers are drawn from a comprehensive panel of experienced industry experts.
Previous course participants have come from a diverse range of backgrounds and have included:
- Metallurgists and Process engineers
- Superintendents, Process managers and Plant supervisors
- Chemists and Laboratory technicians
- Equipment suppliers
- Consultants and Engineers
- Government employees
The course is residential and includes evening tutorials and project work groups. Participants are therefore required to live at the venue for the full duration of the course. Please refer to the ACPS Events page for details when available.
Registration will be limited to applicants who have completed the Society's General Coal Preparation Course or who, in the opinion of the course director, have equivalent experience. It is not suitable for people with only limited familiarity with the basic concepts and processes of coal preparation. The fee covers all costs including:
- lectures and tutorials
- text books (7 volume set of Advanced Coal Preparation Monograph Series)
- meals and accommodation
- course dinner
The Course Director will be resident at the venue for the duration of the course.
For further information on forthcoming courses, please see the ACPS Events page.
