(James) Murdoch Mackenzie

Biography:

Murdoch was on the Foundation Committee for the NSW Coal Preparation Society. His service is listed below: 

NSW Committee:

  • 5 years on the Committee – 1966-67 until 1970-71
  • 3 years as Secretary – 1966-67 to 1968-69 

Other Contributions:

  • Worked closely with Russ Burdon on the establishment of the Coal Preparation Society in 1965 to 1967
  • Establishing and lecturing at coal preparation courses in the early days of the Society
     

During his time in the coal industry Murdoch was employed at BHP Central Research Laboratories and the University of NSW, School of Mining Engineering. In 1972 he relocated to South Africa working in a range on non-coal mineral processing industries.
